An approach to assessing the level and degree of harmonization of sustainable development in the regions of Western Ukraine is proposed, as well as the indicators are defined. Calculations of the asymmetry level of regional development on the parameters of sustainable development, degree of harmonization of development and social tension allowed to receive information on the dynamics of regional asymmetry in the investigated period is provided Simulative models for assessing the effectiveness of leverage management tools for economic, social and environmental processes of the regions of Western Ukraine are developed taking into account the level of social tension, which are based on the results of the previous application of the Granger test to determine the causality between the indicators of socio-ecological and economic development of the regions.
